Meeting Miss Irby

On September 15, 2011, I released a book in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Hercegovina about a local national hero—Miss Adeline Paulina Irby. Meeting Miss Irby, available throughout the country in both Bosnian and English and now around the world, celebrates the life of a wealthy Victorian English woman who gave up the privileges of London to serve young women in Ottoman controlled Bosnia. Meeting Miss Irby is part biography and part memoir. Two years before releasing the book, my family also moved to Sarajevo to serve the young people of Bosnia-Hercegovina.  Meeting Miss Irby weaves together the stories of two travelers, 150 years apart, who meet in Sarajevo.

I hope that meeting Miss Irby inspires you as it has inspired me.
